Unmasking the Unknown: Craft Body Scan & The Franklin Theatre FearFest Partnership

This October, as The Franklin Theatre once again invites audiences to explore the thrilling unknowns of
its annual FearFest movie series, we’re proud to highlight a partnership that extends beyond cinematic suspense into the realm of real-life proactive health.
Craft Body Scan, our presenting sponsor for
FearFest, shares a unique alignment with the spirit of the series: empowering individuals to face the unknown, whether it’s on screen or within their own bodies. We sat down with their team to discuss what drew them to FearFest and how their mission to promote early detection resonates deeply with community well-being.

  1. This is our third annual FearFest. What drew Craft Body Scan to partner with The Franklin Theatre, and specifically, to sponsor a film series like FearFest? How does this partnership align with your team’s mission and community engagement goals?

This year marks our very first partnership with The Franklin Theatre, and we couldn’t be more excited to begin with something as bold, unique, and community-driven as FearFest. It’s more than just a seasonal celebration; it’s a cultural event that brings people together through story, suspense, and shared experience.

At Craft Body Scan, we believe that meaningful healthcare starts with meaningful connection. And what better way to connect than through an iconic local theatre that’s been a pillar of community life for generations?

“Partnering with The Franklin Theatre was a natural choice for us,” said Rick Chervenak, Market Leader for Craft Body Scan Nashville. “We’re all about proactive health, but also proactive relationships. Getting involved with the people and places that make this area feel like home. FearFest lets us show up in a fun, creative way, and start a conversation about something that can truly save lives.”

This alignment is no coincidence. FearFest taps into what we fear most — the unknown. And for many adults, the scariest unknown is what’s going on inside their own bodies. That’s where we come in. “Early detection gives people the power to face the unknown, and win,” said Trey Marler, president of Craft Body Scan. “Our goal is to change lives by helping people detect serious issues early, and this partnership helps us amplify that mission in the heart of Middle Tennessee.”

  1. Can you explain the core services you offer and how they empower individuals to take a proactive approach to their health? What is the most common misconception people have about preventative body scans, and how do you address it?

Craft Body Scan offers fast, painless, and non-invasive imaging that helps detect major health risks like heart disease, lung abnormalities, aneurysms, and cancer. Often, long before symptoms appear.

Our most popular service in Nashville is our $149 Couple’s Heart & Lung Scan (TogetherWeScan.com). Valued at $2,720, this is a 10-minute or less scan that helps individuals and their loved ones take proactive control of their health. It’s peace of mind, powered by modern technology. But perhaps the biggest misconception we face is this: “If I feel fine, I must be fine.”

Sadly, many life-threatening conditions don’t show symptoms until they’re advanced. Our scans change that narrative. Revealing what the eye can’t see and helping people act, and in some cases, before it’s too late.

  1. We’ve all heard stories about people who caught a serious health issue early because they were proactive. Can you share a story or a key example (without revealing private information, of course) that illustrates the life-saving impact of what you do? What drives your team’s passion for this work?

While we protect patient privacy, we’ve witnessed countless stories of lives changed, and even saved, through early detection.

Take the case of a Nashville-area woman who came in for a scan after losing her husband to a sudden heart attack. She wasn’t experiencing any symptoms, but her scan revealed a potentially deadly tumor that doctors were able to treat early. She now credits Craft Body Scan with saving her life.

Stories like hers drive everything we do. Our team is deeply passionate about shifting the focus of healthcare from reaction to prevention. One scan, one family, one future at a time.

  1. Sponsoring events like FearFest is a great way to support the community. In what other ways does the Craft Body Scan team engage with the local Franklin and Williamson County community? Are there specific initiatives or partnerships you’re particularly proud of?

Sponsoring FearFest is just one way we engage with the local community. Our Nashville team is actively
involved in:

  • Health fairs, senior expos, and wellness events
  • Free educational talks about early detection and prevention
  • Volunteer participation in local nonprofits and neighborhood initiatives

We believe that health is personal, and local. That’s why we make it a priority to show up, give back, and be a visible, supportive presence in the lives of our neighbors.

  1. How do you see the future of preventative healthcare evolving, and what role do you hope Craft Body Scan will play in that? Are there any upcoming services, technologies, or plans you’re excited about that you can share with our audience?

The future of healthcare is shifting toward personalized, preventive, and accessible solutions, and Craft Body Scan is proud to be a leader in that evolution.

In select markets, we’ve introduced AI-enhanced whole-body MRI, which delivers faster, more accurate results with zero radiation and no contrast dye. We’re exploring ways to bring this cutting-edge technology to more cities, including Nashville, in the near future.

Ultimately, our vision is simple:

To make advanced early detection as routine as an annual checkup – helping people avoid costly emergencies and live longer, healthier lives.

We extend our sincere thanks to Craft Body Scan for their invaluable support and partnership as the presenting sponsor of FearFest. Their commitment to community health beautifully complements our shared goal of enriching the lives of Middle Tennessee residents. We look forward to a successful and spooky season together!

From Screens to Stage: A Trio of Talent Takes Over The Franklin Theatre This Summer!

Get ready, Franklin! This summer, “The Jewel of Main Street” is set to shine even brighter as we welcome not one, but three incredibly talented individuals, known for their captivating performances on screen, as they grace our historic stage for unforgettable musical concerts. Prepare for an eclectic mix of sounds and stories as Josh Radnor, Charles Esten, and Hank Azaria (with The EZ Street Band) bring their unique musical artistry to The Franklin Theatre!

First up, we’re thrilled to host Josh Radnor, an actor many know and love as the affable Ted Mosby from the beloved, long-running sitcom series How I Met Your Mother. Now, Radnor has poured his heart and soul into his debut solo album, Eulogy: Volume I + II. Journeying from Los Angeles to Nashville after a period of personal reflection, Radnor channeled raw emotion into a collection of beautifully minimal and stirring folk-Americana tracks. These “mini-funerals” for past selves, rich with existential questioning and relatable narratives reminiscent of Nick Drake and Neil Young, promise an intimate and moving musical experience right here on our stage. Having previously explored his musical side with the duo Radnor & Lee, this solo venture showcases a new layer of his artistic depth, a sincerity praised for its “clever craftsmanship” and “certain purity.”

Next up is Charles Esten, a longtime storyteller both as an actor, beloved for his roles in Outer Banks and Nashville, and as a compelling artist-songwriter. With his signature “loose, rough-cut country” sound, Esten has garnered millions of streams and even holds a Guinness World Record for consecutive weekly single releases. Having graced the stage of the Grand Ole Opry over 180 times and toured globally, his performance at The Franklin Theatre is sure to be a high-energy celebration of authentic country music. Beyond his impressive musical achievements, Esten’s genuine connection with his audience makes every performance a memorable one.

Finally, get ready to rock with Hank Azaria & The EZ Street Band! While Azaria is a voice acting legend, particularly known for his decades of work on The Simpsons, this project is a true passion, fueled by his lifelong admiration for Bruce Springsteen. This isn’t just an impersonation; it’s a “theatrical performance” where Azaria embodies the spirit of “The Boss” while sharing his own stories through Springsteen’s iconic lens. Backed by the incredibly talented EZ Street Band, whose members have worked with music powerhouses and graced major stages, this promises to be a joyful, full-tilt rock ‘n’ roll event that will have you on your feet.

From heartfelt folk to authentic country and a unique rock ‘n’ roll tribute, Summer at The Franklin Theatre is shaping up to be an extraordinary month filled with talent that transcends the screen. Don’t miss your chance to witness these acclaimed actors step into their musical roles and bring their artistry to our beloved Main Street stage. Stay tuned for ticket information and prepare to be entertained!
