Relive the History of "The Jewel of Main Street"
Since opening in 1937, The Franklin Theatre has contributed to the cultural and economic vitality of Downtown Franklin and beyond. Its history is a fascinating tale of success, decline and rebirth. Heralding the 10th anniversary of the theatre's reopening in 2011, discover the story of "The Jewel of Main Street" in this documentary that ceremoniously recounts the theatre's past, near demise, and how an entire community rallied behind the nonprofit Heritage Foundation of Williamson County, TN to give new life to this beloved home of the performing arts.
Watch and please consider giving a tax-deductible donation, or join the 1937 Society to keep the theatre going as ticket sales alone do not sustain the theatre. Join us as we work to make the power of the performing arts accessible to all audiences. We appreciate your support!
The Franklin Theatre is a non-profit LLC, a wholly-owned division of the Heritage Foundation of Williamson County, TN, a 501c3 organization.
